Fine Art Photography
Many of the photographic images that are presented in the Jim Harris Studios website portfolio galleries are available for sale as Fine Art Photography Prints and Framed Art work.
All of the photographic imagery from our Editorial and Documentary Photography Portfolios are available upon request in prints sizes ranging from 8x10 to 24x30. Most of our framed fine art prints are archivally mounted and matted 11x14 prints in 16x20 ready to hang frames.
Many of these images are from my gallery shows and fine art exhibition photography. The documentary photography from the exhibition titled Coal People: Contemporary Images of Northern Appalachia presents black and white documentary images from the Western Pennsylvania coal mining landscape. Photography from the Picture Stories exhibition offers documentary fine art photography from such travel destinations as Mexico, Europe and Africa. These are candid documentary photographs and environmental portraits from many of the places I've traveled and photographed. Some of the projects for my documentary photography that are featured in the Picture Stories collection are the Berlin Wall, Coal and Uranium mines in Eastern Europe, abandoned gold mine villages in Mexico, Basotho village life and miners from Lesotho, which is a small landlocked mountain country located entirely within South Africa. We also offer my travel photography from the US, which includes imagery from Route 66 and Coastal California.
Many of the Fine Art Photography Prints we offer are local images of Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Many are Philadelphia landscape and cityscape photography and other Philadelphia event photographs such as our portfolio on the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Sports Photography. These photographic fine art prints are of the Philadelphia Phillies and include everything from Spring Training in Clearwater to stadium photography at Citizens Bank Ballpark and Fine art photography from the World Series Parade in 2008.
Description of Fine Art Prints
Our Fine Art Print Photography is available in multiple formats. I'm sad to say that the days of my fine art hand printed gelatin prints are mostly finished. I still have some prints still available for sale as hand printed silver prints, but the majority of our Black and White Fine Art Prints are from scanned negative and printed from a high-resolution file of the original negative. I have found that the final product/image is every bit as dramatic and sharp as the prints I used to make from the enlarger, often even sharper. From the high resolution scanned negative I create lush Black and White imagery on Exhibition Fiber Inkjet papers or I order Kodak E-Surface Endura Prints or Ilford's True Black and White papers from my professional photographic lab.
The end result is a fine art photograph, archivally mounted, matted and framed in nearly any size, depending on the original negative or file. Please call or email for more details regarding our fine art photography and visit JimHarrisImages.com to order online.
